B&G, world leader in the design and manufacture of marine electronics and instruments for sailing, announced today the V90, a powerful and versatile new black box VHF marine radio.

Packed with innovative communication features, the V90 offers sailors unparalleled performance with a feature set that includes an Automatic Identification System (AIS) receiver, hailer, foghorn and intercom, as well as NMEA® connectivity for sharing data across the network with B&G chartplotters/multifunction displays.

Combining intelligent design and superb engineering, the B&G V90 high performance VHF marine radio extends beyond basic communications and provides boaters advanced functionality anywhere on board.

Class D compliant for global use, the new B&G VHF has an NMEA 2000® interface and includes a built-in, dual channel AIS receiver that allows AIS reception and VHF use via a single antenna. A thirty second ‘record and replay’ function ensures vital calls are never missed.

Ideal for Sailing, the V90 VHF’s optional scrambler provides the ability to keep favourite anchoring spots secret. The V90’s 'Track Your Buddy' feature connects DSC position polling with B&G chartplotters via the NMEA 2000® network for GPS location display of up to three sailing friends. Additional advanced capabilities include GPS navigation and Man Over Board (MOB) functionality.

Housed in a black box, all major V90 components are hidden from sight, while the unit’s handset, encased in rubber for durability and a confident grip, can be conveniently installed anywhere onboard. The V90 VHF radio has a large, easy-to-read, 180 x 128-pixel LCD display with adjustable backlighting, plus a large built-in telephone-style speaker and alpha numeric keypad.

Ensuring installation flexibility to keep sailors in touch, the V90 can support up to a maximum of 6 handsets, more than any other VHF on the market — 4 wired and 2 wireless, when paired with the compact B&G H90 Wireless Handset. Tough and dependable, the B&G V50 is waterproof to the IPx7 standard (submersible), protected by a standard warranty and supported by the B&G 5-Year Advantage Program.

Available now, the B&G V90 VHF can be purchased from authorised dealers for $999.00 AUD RRP and $1229 NZD RRP. For more information on the B&G V90 or the entire range of B&G sailing marine electronics, please visit www.bandg.com
