Balance 451 Balance Catamarans
We've had a busy past two weeks in Fort Lauderdale, offloading our first Balance 451 and commissioning her rig, bending her sails, hauling her to paint final bottom lines and boot stripe, testing all of her systems, etc. It has been a great pleasure working with her owner, Rick Bell, Nance and Underwood Rigging, Bob Pattison from Neil Pryde Sails, Jake from Starboard Marine, Micah Zimmerman from Startown Marine, and Scott Alexander from Selden Spars.
Jeff Jones from the Multihull Company office in Fort Lauderdale has spearheaded the commissioning process with this great group of guys and has done so with great aplumb. Bravo to you Jeff and the entire team.
Suffice it to say we area all pretty pumped up. While it took our build team longer than we hoped to have her finished, the end result is a reflection of a very serious design, engineering and build process hard-focused on quality from the outset. We are deeply confident that buyers in the market for a balanced performance voyaging cat of the highest quality will recognize the extraordinary value of the Balance 451.
Lee Xinxiang and Micah Zimmerman, builders of the yacht, went overboard working with us, along with Kiwi Designer, Roger Hill, to sort out every little detail. Lee and Rick bonded together over the build process to design and install a most unique electrical system - two large 24 volt DC alternators on Yanmar 39's that are capable of running air conditioning at anchor without the need for a generator.
We are all still tweaking the boat here and there, perfecting her, but are certain the marine industry will stand up and applaud our latest creation at the Annapolis Boat show this coming October.
