Entering their non-winning lottery scratch-off tickets in a Second Chance drawing brought Ramona King of Miami, Florida and Mailoyn Davis of Hartsville, South Carolina the catch of a lifetime—a chance to fish with the legendary Guy Harvey in his own backyard in the Cayman Islands.
Joining Davis for his day-on-the-water with the celebrated Harvey was his guest Sabrina McDonald-Mack. Lenzie Morrow fished with Harvey and King, who landed four dolphinfish during her outing.
Both winners were among hundreds of thousands of players participating in GUY Harvey Scratch-Off games launched by the Florida and South Carolina Lottery programs in 2013.
Harvey, regarded as the world’s top marine wildlife artist, is a tireless advocate for ocean conservation and education, especially for youths. He has directed that royalties from both games be used to fund education and marine conservation efforts in Florida and South Carolina.
'We strongly believe that it’s important to teach and educate children and adults to be responsible stewards of our marine environments,' said Harvey, who holds a Ph.D in fisheries biology. 'Investing our lottery funds back into conservation and education programs will allow us to build on our existing work and to support some new programs around the Palmetto and Sunshine States.'
