Gladstone Marina in Queensland has been awarded Gold Anchor accreditation under the customer service focused rating scheme managed by the Marina Industries Association (MIA).
MIA President Andrew Chapman said Gladstone Marina is to be congratulated for embracing the Gold Anchor International Rating Scheme and having the vision to understand the long term benefits of participation.
The Scheme aims to showcase those marinas that demonstrate a strong commitment to customer service and assist marina users in selecting the right marina for their needs in terms of facilities and services. The Scheme also provides participating marinas with a customer service framework and customer feedback opportunities to assist with continual improvement.
Gladstone Port Corporation’s (GPC) Business Operations Manager, Andrew Davis said the 3.5 anchor rating provided GPC with a customer service benchmark for the ongoing development of Gladstone Marina. 'Our parkands are a recognised feature of our Marina and are rated very highly, however they are only one part of the overall rating. GPC is committed to continually improving the facilities and services at Gladstone Marina. Only two weeks ago we welcomed the opening of Cafe Spinnaker within our marina precinct. We are working towards achieving a Gold Anchor rating of 4 to 4.5 by 2016.'
Gladstone Marina joins leading marinas in Australia and Asia in achieving this valued accreditation. As well as desk top and site audits, the rating takes account of the structured feedback provided by marina berth-holders. Once accredited, Gold Anchor marinas are subject to periodic ‘mystery shopper’ checks to ensure service is being maintained at or above the designated rating.
