FICO-Lacoste World Championship Rankings

by Courtesy Scuttleutt Europe on 31 Oct 2003
The FICO-Lacoste World Championship final ranking list is still open !

Although Bernard Stamm is already certain to become the winning Skipper for 2003 – definitely a great vintage for Swiss yachting – there is all to play for 2nd and 3rd place. One can be certain that skippers like Jourdain, Desjoyeaux, Roucayrol, Richards, Le Cam or Golding will battle
fiercely in the upcoming Transat Jacques Vabre to step on the podium.

In the same way, many candidates are still in the running for the coveted title of best crew. The Transat Jacques Vabre, which is raced
double-handed – one sailor being considered the skipper, the other one the crew – is kind of a short cut of the Championship’s formula.

Already a winner in 2000, J. Baptiste Levaillant (87 points) can see his leadership being threatened by Jacques Vincent, crew aboard Sodebo (65 points)

All the protagonists of this racing season will again gather at Le Fouquet’s in Paris on December 12, during the Paris Boat Show, for the
FICO-Lacoste prize-giving ceremony where a total amount of 87,500 euros will be handed out.

Prize-mony is awarded as follows :
Skipper 2003 FICO-Lacoste World Champion: 40,000 euros,

2nd : 25,000 euros,

3rd : 15,000 euros.

1st crew : 7,500 euros
