Burke Marine search for dynamic sales person

Dry, durable and comfortable has long been the catch phrase of iconic Australian marine clothing company Burke Marine, but now they are looking to add in dynamic. The search is on for a dynamic sales person to join the dedicated team at Burke in their Sydney office. The call is out for a keen sailor with strong sales skills, great communication and people skills and an energetic, dynamic and driven persona.


Burke Marine has been at the forefront of Australian marine clothing and accessories innovation for over forty years and has famously created iconic products, such as the blue waterproof gear bag and Super Dry wet weather gear, that have spanned decades and generations. Australian kids have grown up in dinghies wearing Burke wet suit booties and PFDs and many a sailor has tackled Bass Strait in a Burke Southerly Jacket and High-fit. So when joining the guys at Burke Marine in a sales position you will be taking on a long legacy of great products designed specifically for the Australian sailing market.

Burke marine are looking for someone to expand on this strong market position and take the brand into the next generation. Search for new sales opportunities and have the drive to follow actions through. Be involved in product design and have the dynamo personality to take that product to market.


Work closely with founder, Martin Burke, who started his business 42 years ago as a sailmaker and which quickly developed into Australia's largest marine clothing and accessories company. Initially the boating accessories range was a sideline to the bigger sail making side of the business which was in strong demand as Burke-designed sails dominated one design fleets in Australia - with Burke sails winning seven national and 28 state championships in one year alone. This soon lead to multiple world championship wins over the next several decades.

Evolution has always been a key part of Martin Burke's vision for the business and after one particularly wet and miserable Sydney to Hobart yacht race; Martin decided there had to be something better out there. So he set to work designing and locally manufacturing a range of wet weather gear that would keep him and the crew dry and comfortable. And the rest as they say is history.


Over the following decades, lifejackets, footwear and safety products were added to the range. With eventually that initial sideline business taking over the sailmaking floor and evolving into Australia's leading brand of marine technical wet weather gear, footwear, safety equipment and accessories.
