The Spirit of Canada Ocean Challenges team is announcing the first trip to St Pierre to celebrate St. Bastille Day in France.
Imagine departing historic Lunenburg, Nova Scotia and sailing into the Atlantic all the way to France..in less than two days. St. Pierre is an Island owned by France in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, just off Newfoundland and only two days by boat. Upon arrival you are immediately immersed in the European culture with fresh baguettes, croissants and great French wine.
The National holiday of France in Saint-Pierre and Miquelon happens on July 14th to celebrate the end of the French revolution. This holiday has become a very popular event for it’s musical and cultural celebrations.
Only two days of sailing from Lunenburg to St. Pierre it’s a must do event for those that don’t have enough time for a full transatlantic but would still like to experience ocean sailing and arrive at an exotic destination, participate in festivities and either get back on the boat to sail it back to Canada or fly home via Newfoundland or Halifax on Air St. Pierre.
