The NSW Jeanneau Sailing Rendezvous 2013, proudly sponsored by Sydney City Marine and hosted by NSW Jeanneau dealer Performance Boating, took place on Sydney Harbour last weekend with nearly 40 yachts participating. After a leisurely race and cruise the festivities continued with a party and prize night at the Northbridge Sailing Club in Middle Harbour.

With three divisions, two for those that are for the more competitive minded, and also a cruising division, the day had the weather gods smiling as everyone enjoyed beautiful sailing conditions of sunny skies and light breeze. A quick downpour at 5pm could not even dampen the atmosphere.

Crews in colorful uniforms, yachts bedecked in flags, everyone got into the spirit of the day which ended with most of the fleet anchoring or rafting up for the Saturday evening. A wide range of models were represented from a 1990 Sun Light 31 to the flagship of the range, the Jeanneau 57 and everything in between.

Results for the days events:

Red Division:

1. Eggsilante - Sun Light 31 - John Egger
2.Wild Passion - Sun Odyssey 36i - Peter and Colleen Swavley
3.Spot On - Sun Odyssey 36i - David and Linda Mott

Scratch Boat - Clovelly Pacific - Sun Odyssey 379 - Eisen and Winnie Liang

Blue Division:

1. Macscap - Sunfast 37 - Peter McClelland
2. Joie de Vie - SO42i Performance - Peter Byford
3. Nirvana`s Kitchen - 45 Deck Saloon - Leon Wilson

Scratch Boat - Cloud Nine - Sunfast 43 - Ron Hayden

Cruising Division:

First home in the cruising division by quite a distance was the SO439 Jazz from Port Hacking , followed by Fred and Kay Bidwell’s new SO509 Silk Road and Ralph Skelton’s SO37 Mica.

Trophies were to place getters in each division, and then our naming sponsor Sydney City Marine generously offered a full antifoul valued at up to $4,000 which was drawn from a hat and won by Greg O’Neil for his SO36i. A wide variety of prizes were also distributed to every yacht. Thanks again to our generous sponsors. All food for the evening was provided with the support of Performance Boating, Cosine Shipwrights and River Quays NSW Jeanneau Sailing Rendezvous 2013

52 Super Series Porto Cervo practice race
The loss of the last 'dress rehearsal' is something of a disappointment Although there was just enough breeze to execute a couple of meaningful practice starts, the breeze dropped away and thereafter proved insufficient to allow the planned two short official practice races to be sailed today off Porto Cervo.

And so, it begins…
Grand Final not run yet, but our Hobart coverage begins with something very cool Maybe a tad earlier than last year, which I think was after the Grand Final, but the 100th entrant seemed like a good place to set things off. Now with that said, Sail-World's Hobart coverage begins.
