Young Endeavour- 25-year celebration and you are invited!

by Young Endeavour on 22 Jan 2013
Young Endeavour, celebrating 25 years of youth schemes SW
The Young Endeavour Youth Scheme, a not for profit organisation giving young Australians an inspirational experience at sea aboard sail training ship Young Endeavour, is celebrating its 25th birthday.

Since 1988 more than 11,000 young Australians have joined 468 voyages sailing the Australian coast, the Tasman Sea and beyond.

A voyage aboard Young Endeavour is an awesome experience, and one which will give young Australians skills for life. The Royal Australian Navy crew teaches them how to sail a square-rigged vessel, including how to navigate, keep watch, take the helm, cook in the galley, tie knots, work aloft and even take command.

Not only that, they develop teamwork, leadership and communication skills, learn how to work with disadvantaged youth and meet people from around the country.

You can visit Young Endeavour at one of their free public Open Days. Explore the ship, meet the youth crew and find out how to get aboard for the voyage of a lifetime.

Here are the dates of where the sailing ship is going to be:

Eden - 10 February 2013

Newcastle - 23 February 2013

Sydney - 26 January 2013

Brisbane - 11 May 2013

If you’ve already sailed in Young Endeavour, Open Days are a great opportunity to get back on board and share your experiences, or to show friends and family the ship.
