Mercury - Canada is set to showcase their high performance, Formula 2 powerboat at Canada’s largest and most premier boat show, the 55th annual Toronto International Boat Show.

Mercury is the leader in the marine industry, constantly testing and improving their products. Mercury - Canada is dedicated to showcasing their products to the world and providing support for their Canadian athletes.

Canada is home to some of the world's best tunnel boat drivers. These drivers travel throughout the Unites States and the world claiming podium finishes and championships each year. Canadian champion driver, Tammy Wolf will pilot Mercury - Canada’s Formula 2 boat in 2013.

She is the only female tunnel boat race driver in Canada and has won numerous championships and podium finishes including the 2011 Formula 3 Divisional Champion, 2010 Formula 3 Midwest Regional Champion, ranked second in the USA in 2010 and second in Super league series points in 2010 and 2012.

This will be the team's first season racing in Formula 2. There boat is powered with a low-emission Mercury OptiMax 200 XS SST motor. The boat is 16 feet long, weighs 1150 lbs including the driver, and composed mainly of wood with a carbon fibre safety cell.

Tunnel boat racing is unlike any other form of racing, each lap is different. Drivers are not only competing against each other but also the ever-changing water and wind conditions. Boats reach the turn buoy at up to 120 mph (193 kph) and in a split second; they accelerate out to the next one. Drivers can experience up to 4G´s of centrifugal forces as they maneuver around a turn buoy. The team will compete in both Canada and the USA and are working on some European dates.

The Toronto International Boat show is the best place to see this race boat, meet Mercury’s incredible employees and learn about their high performance products. The Toronto International Boat Show runs January 12 to 20, 2013 with a special preview night, January 11th, at the Direct Energy Centre, Exhibition Place. Tammy Wolf will be at the show Saturday, January 12 and Sunday, January 13th in the Mercury booth to answer questions and sign Tammy Wolf Racing website
