Sailing Chix on air in Sydney from tomorrow

by Nicole Douglass on 5 Oct 2012
Sailing is set to continue the run of popularity post Olympics with the launch of a Northern Beaches radio show in Sydney this Saturday.

Sailing Chix with Nix will air on Radio Northern Beaches from 8am until 9am in the Saturday morning slot featuring a variety of sailing news, spotlights and interviews.

The first guest of the show will be consecutive gold medal winner in the 470 class, Malcolm Page to chat about the Games, and a successful season which was just capped off with a nomination for ISAF Sailor of the Year. The sailing greats keep coming, with Australian Sailing Team coach and bronze medallist in Sydney 2000, Michael Blackburn, and Paralympic golden girl Leisl Tesch coming to talk to the Sailing Chix in the next few weeks.

The Sailing Chix with Nix presenters include Nix, who is the resident AC guru having worked with Team Germany and Container, Mel Yeomans, of DeckHardware an Australian Sailing Team sponsor, and Nic Douglass, a dual Tasar World Champ and successful match racer who has just kick started a 470 campaign. All are keen to share their love of the sport, and of course bring the latest from the sailing scene.

The girls said that 'the interest in the Sailing Chix show from the sailing community so far has been fantastic. It is definitely a great way to take the spirit of sailing to the wider community!'

Join in with the excitement and tune into the Sailing Chix with Nix show at 8am this Saturday on 88.7FM or 90.3FM or via www.rnb.org.au/stream for live streaming.
