Barry Jenkins wins 'Champion' of the Marine Industry award

Marine industry stalwart, Barry Jenkins was honoured last week at the 2012 Club Marine Australian Marine Industry Export Awards, organised by the Australian International Marine Export Group (AIMEX).

Barry won the combined Marine Export & Superyacht Industry Champion Award. A familiar face on the international marine scene, Barry is well known and respected within the Australian Marine and Superyacht Industry, having made a significant impact and contribution over the past 30+ years.

Barry consults to the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show and Yacht & Boat Korea in the area of international relations and product development.

He is also Director of AIMEX and Chairman of Superyacht Australia division of AIMEX. His industry involvement includes Past President of Marine Queensland, Past President of the Australian Marine Industries Federation, Chairman of Superyacht Australia and long-term Director on the AIMEX board.

Barry said of the award: 'It was a lovely, unexpected surprise. It’s very nice to be recognized and
I feel greatly honoured.'

AIMEX has representation this year at METS, Fort Lauderdale, Monaco and other events and shows depending on member feedback. In 2013, first up on the calendar is the Dubai International Boat Show in March, followed by Shanghai in April.
