Fish are back on the menu.
Central Highlands Water (CHW) today announced the re-opening of Moorabool Reservoir for fishing.
Chairman, Jeremy Johnson, says recreational fishing can now be enjoyed seven days a week at this delightful reservoir by anyone with a current fishing licence.
'A fishing permit from us is now no longer required at any of our reservoirs open to fishing. This is great news for our customers and visitors to the area.
We are absolutely thrilled to re-open Moorabool Reservoir for fishing.'
The reservoir and park is open seven days a week.
Moorabool Reservoir is stocked by Department of Primary Industries with Rainbow and Brown Trout. With Spring just around the corner there has never been a better time to catch the beauty of the reservoir and accompanying park.
New signage has been installed around the reservoir to indicate areas where fishing is permitted. Visitors to the reservoir and park are asked to follow the rules for public access displayed.
'Moorabool Reservoir is a vital part of our potable supply and as such maintaining the integrity of the water quality should be kept in mind by all users of the reservoir. We urge anglers to assist us in monitoring the use of the reservoir to ensure it remains an asset for all to enjoy', said Mr.
