Straight from the Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Marks-Dasent travelled directly to Aarhus, Denmark, to represent St. Vincent and the Grenadines at the ILCA 6 Youth World Championships, held from 11th to 19th August.

At just 15 years old, this was Marks-Dasent's first World Championship, making him one of the youngest sailors competing in the 15-18 age category. He finished 74th in the Under-17 fleet and 290th overall among the competitors.

Marks-Dasent has taken his first step onto the world stage, gaining experience competing against the best young sailors in the world. This is an important first chapter in his international sailing journey.

Marks-Dasent said:
"Going to two regattas back to back and racing in winds up to 30 knots was a real challenge, but I learnt a lot and I can see what I need to work on to become a better sailor."

This first World Championship is just the start. Marks-Dasent has three more years to compete in this age category, giving him time to build experience and continue his progression on the international sailing circuit.

His next World Championship will be the World Sailing Youth World Championships in Portugal this December, where he will once again take on the world's best youth sailors. Racing in one of the most competitive youth sailing events on the calendar, this will be another important opportunity for Marks-Dasent to gain experience, test himself against top international competition, and continue building towards his long-term development goals.

This is just the beginning of Marks-Dasent's international sailing career as he works towards his long-term goal of representing St. Vincent and the Grenadines at the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games.
