2026 GL52 Little Traverse Cup - Day 1

by Caroline Rochford 8 Aug 11:40 PDT

It took some time, patience and a whole lotta sunscreen. But after a several hour delay, we were able to squeeze in three light air races before sunset.

Light air didn't limit the heavy competition. Teams shuffled places throughout the day and as a result, scores are tight.

Inshore heavyweight Katana leads once again with 6 points. Dark horse Hooligan had an absolutely stellar day and is currently tied for second with Windquest, each having 9 points. Behind them is Wizard with 10 points. But with bigger breeze on the forecast for today, Wizard is gunning for some redemption. Though they began the day with a victory, Mockingbird fell slightly behind in the second two races of the day and currently sits in fifth ahead of Fjord.

The forecast for today looks incredibly promising with bigger breeze and chop for teams to contend with. Following racing teams will enjoy a Fjord-hosted BBQ.

Racing is anticipated to begin at 12pm ET.!
