World Sailing, the global governing body for the sport, has approved the appointment of two Technical Delegate positions for the LA28 Olympic sailing competition.

The appointees are:

  • Ferran Muniesa, Spain, Technical Delegate - Ferran is World Sailing's Director of Events and an experienced event organiser with 17 years of experience - including 10 as Event Director - in delivering the Princess Sofia Regatta, widely regarded as setting the standard for Olympic regatta sailing over the last decade.

Quanhai Li, World Sailing President, said, "We are delighted to make these appointments to key roles for the LA28 Olympic sailing competition. Ricardo and Ferran will be tasked with ensuring sailing at the Olympic Games will be a fair competition for all athletes, and we can all look forward to excellent sailing in Long Beach and Port of Los Angeles."

David Graham, World Sailing CEO said, "Ricardo and Ferran are outstanding appointments for LA28. Both bring extensive experience of delivering sailing events at the highest level and understand the standards required for Olympic competition. I am confident they will help build a world-class team and work closely with LA28 and the IOC to ensure sailing delivers an exceptional Olympic regatta."
