The countdown to one of Victoria's premier sailing events has begun, with entries now officially open for the 2026 Lipton Cup Regatta, to be held at Royal Yacht Club of Victoria from 20-22 November 2026.

In a major boost for competitors, Royal Yacht Club of Victoria has announced that entry to this year's regatta is completely free, removing a significant barrier for sailors and encouraging even greater participation from across Port Phillip and beyond. Visiting competitors will also receive complimentary berthing for the entire weekend, making it easier than ever for interstate and regional crews to experience everything the event has to offer.

The regatta begins on Friday 20 November with an invitational Twilight Race, before two full days of competitive racing across a wide range of keelboat and off-the-beach classes. Saturday's keelboat racing will also form part of the Range Series, adding further prestige and competition to the weekend.

While the racing remains at the heart of the Lipton Cup, organisers are continuing to build the event into a true festival of sailing. Throughout the weekend, competitors and visitors can enjoy live music, pop-up can bars, food and drink specials, and the renowned hospitality of Royal Yacht Club of Victoria, creating an atmosphere that extends well beyond the finish line.

"The Lipton Cup has a proud history as one of the state's great regattas, and this year we're making it more accessible than ever," said Rear Commodore Sailing Matt Fahey.

"By removing the entry fee and offering free berthing for visiting boats, we're inviting more sailors to experience not only outstanding racing but also the incredible atmosphere that makes the Lipton Cup such a special event. Whether you're racing, supporting a crew or simply enjoying the waterfront, it's a weekend not to be missed."

With strong competition expected across multiple classes, organisers are encouraging competitors to submit their entries early and secure their place in what promises to be the biggest Lipton Cup Regatta yet.

The Notice of Race, competitor information and online entry are now available via the official event website.
