The International Switch Class wishes to advise sailors, partners, and stakeholders of an important update regarding the 2026 Global Championship and the Switch Global Youth Championships.

Following the previous announcement confirming Genoa and the originally published dates, the class has now agreed to relocate the Global Championship to Circolo Vela Torbole, Lake Garda, scheduled for 8-11 October 2026. Alongside it, the 2026 Switch Global Youth Championships will be held at Fraglia Vela Malcesine, in conjunction with the FIV Italian Youth Open Foiling Championships, from 15 to 18 October.

The relocation reflects the class's wish to hold its two events in close proximity to one another. Keeping them together allows charter and service to be organised more efficiently, helps maximise overall numbers, and makes it easier for the youth sailors who will be competing in both. The Switch Class is grateful to the Italian Sailing Federation (FIV) for enabling the Youth Globals to run alongside its Italian Youth Open Foiling Championships, a partnership that will bring great benefits to both organisations. The class also extends its thanks to the Italian Switch Class for its work and support in making this possible.

Aligning the two events creates a significant opportunity for the long-term development of the class and its international pathway. More news to come soon.
