Tour Highlights

The Boathouse Marina, Fremantle

Perth's first fully enclosed dry boat storage for 200 vessels up to 12 meters. The Boathouse operates two Wiggins Marina FLX boat lifters - the only two machines of their kind in the world.

Blue HQ, Fremantle

Blue HQ is one of Western Australia's largest integrated marine service facilities, combining a marina, dry stack storage, lifting operations, maintenance infrastructure, and marine trades within a single waterfront precinct. Key infrastructure highlights include 210-tonne, 60-tonne, and 30-tonne travel lifts, an 800sqm maintenance shed, extensive hardstand areas, and a 280-vessel dry stack facility serviced by two Wiggins Marina Bull forklifts.

Swan Yacht Club, East Fremantle

A 250-berth marina currently undertaking a major marina expansion and riverfront redevelopment project. Recent completion of the stage 1 expansion includes 32 new Walcon floating berths and a modern floating wave attenuator system. Stage 2 is currently under way, with plans to further extend the wave attenuator. The project has also secured approximately 8,800 sqm of additional water lease area, supporting future growth opportunities.

Port Coogee Marina

Port Coogee Marina is a modern 231-berth facility showcasing strategic marina development and local council investment. The 2022 Stage 3 expansion added 70 berths, a 90-metre boardwalk, secure gatehouses, upgraded access infrastructure, and parking. The marina demonstrates how targeted investment can successfully expand capacity and enhance marina operations.

Cockburn Power Boat Club

Cockburn Power Boats Club demonstrates how a member-based boating club can successfully modernise and expand its infrastructure. Delegates will view marina upgrades that increased capacity from 43 to 61 berths, including dredging, new pontoons, seawall construction, and accessibility improvements. The tour also highlights boat ramp redevelopment, apron reconstruction, expanded trailer parking, and innovative launch-ramp technology supporting future growth.

Ocean Reef Marina Development

A landmark DevelopmentWA and Western Australian Government-backed project that will deliver a world-class marina, waterfront precinct, residential community, and tourism destination. Shelley Grice, director of maritime assets at the Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure, will deliver a presentation on this landmark project.

Places are limited, and registrations will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. The Study Tour is subject to meeting minimum participant numbers and program confirmation.

We encourage all marina owners, operators, managers, and industry professionals to take advantage of this valuable professional development and networking opportunity.
