The fourth day of the 2026 International Moth European Championship, hosted at Club Nàutic l'Escala, was once again shaped by wind conditions, as the fleet faced another challenging day on the Mar d'Empúries.
After building momentum during the previous day, which saw four races completed, today began with optimism despite early uncertainty. Wind conditions initially remained marginal for foiling, with light breeze and shifting direction requiring close monitoring from the Race Committee.
As the day progressed, the situation showed signs of improvement, with wind stabilising enough to send the fleet afloat. Sailors launched eager to continue the competition, but the breeze failed to consolidate into consistent racing conditions.
Following a prolonged period on the water, the Race Committee made the decision to abandon the day, displaying AP over A, signalling that no further racing would take place.Despite the lack of racing, the event maintained its strong atmosphere ashore.
The day concluded with the traditional pasta party, offering sailors and teams a chance to connect, share experiences and recover energy — a key part of the international sailing community spirit.
With the championship entering its final phase, all attention now turns to the remaining days of competition, where consistency and conditions will play a decisive role.
