The Barton Bulkhead Pipe Gland is now in stock ready for immediate despatch. Discover this important new range at Seawork 2026 to find out how vital it is to help boat designers, manufacturers and refit yards meet MCA Workboat Code 3, the Sport/Pleasure Vessel Code and relevant IMO Standards.
Exhibited at Barrus Marine (stand Q18) and Lancing Marine (stand P21), the Barton team will be on hand to discuss the many benefits of specifying the Bulkhead Pipe Gland for marine projects. The glands will also be on display in the Innovations Showcase area where they have been nominated for an Innovation Award.
Providing a watertight and vapour proof seal, the Bulkhead Pipe Gland range enables pipes, tubes and cables to pass through bulkheads up to 35mm thick in total compliance with regulations, which are being enforced when surveyed on commercial and workboat craft. Now brought in house and fully manufactured by Barton Marine in the UK to ensure the highest quality levels for marine use, the glands are constructed from marine grade 316 stainless steel and BS2751 nitrile rubber providing maximum durability.
Easy to install, the glands require no mastics or sealants, which speeds up the fitting process, reduces mess and completely removes solvent emissions. They can be installed on curved surfaces with a diameter greater than 0.8m and are compatible with angled pipes up to 15 degrees off the centre line. The glands are currently available for pipes, tubes and cables with an outer diameter between 18-50mm, with four inserts in stock to provide the optimum fit.
A special Outboard Motor Well Gland Insert provides the perfect solution to run multiple cables, hoses and pipes from the bow to outboard engines with watertight performance.
Beyond compliance for Workboat Code 3 vapour and watertight requirements, key features of the Bulkhead Pipe Glands include:
- Seals the aperture for pipe, tube & cable integration
- Vapour & watertight construction
- Reduces vibration, noise & pipe chafing
- Compatible for angled pipes & curved surfaces
- Sealed but fully serviceable & adjustable
- 316 Stainless Steel & Nitrile Rubber (BS2751)
- Requires no mastics, sealants or solvent based resins
- Great value and easy installation
- Fire resistant solutions can be adapted
