2026 Flotilla to Alaska Day 1 - Prevost Harbor to Ganges

Day 1 is always a very busy day. Clearing Canadian Customs, arriving into Ganges, provisioning for a week without groceries, and then meeting for our first group dinner out...it's a lot.

Which means photos from Day 1 are often a little scarce.

Airship at Bedwell Harbour for clearing Canadian Customs:

Instead of clearing by phone with Nexus as usual, Airship stopped at the dock at Bedwell Harbour (with a non-Nexus person aboard, you need to clear in person). We knew we were in Canada because we are now spelling "harbour" with the "u". Customs officials were courteous and efficient as usual. The officer looked at his screen and said "You guys are Slowboat, right? Why isn't Laura with you this year?" He then proceeded to list off about the last seven times we've cleared into Canada and where. So, the moral to the story is that these folks keep track of things.

Forever. Best to always be on good behavior. Or "behaviour" as the case may be.

We were quickly cleared, off the dock, and on our way to Ganges:

We're frequently met with float plane traffic as we approach Ganges, and today was no different.

Everyone got into their slips just fine and headed to town for provisioning and exploring.

The group enjoyed a delicious dinner out at Auntie Pesto's, and even had our same great waiter from last summer!
