J Cup Europe returns in 2026. For this edition, the J fleet is heading to Cherbourg-en-Cotentin for three days of racing combining high level competition with the friendly spirit that defines the J Cup. Axe Sail, Yacht Club de Cherbourg, Key Yachting and J Composites have joined forces to organise this major event for the J/Boats community.

The event marks a key milestone for the J/99 class: the organisation of its very first European Championship. This competition highlights the growth and momentum of the fleet on an international scale. J/99 crews from across Europe will come together to compete, benchmark their performance, and above all enjoy racing aboard a boat that continues to attract an increasing number of sailors.

True to tradition, the J Cup is not limited to a single class. All J/Boats models are welcome, regardless of age or size. This diversity of boats and crews, from experienced racers to new owners, is what makes these worldwide gatherings so unique.

The Cherbourg sailing area, renowned for its technical qualities, will provide the ideal racing playground. To keep the fun going after racing, the J Cup village at Port Chantereyne will serve as the central hub for crews to gather and connect.

Participants will also benefit from the support of B&G®, event partner. Throughout the event, Gauthier Figeac, B&G® specialist, will be present on the docks to provide support and help crews optimise their onboard electronics. Crews will have access to personalised technical advice to fine-tune their instrument settings. North Sails and Harken are also supporting the event by providing numerous prizes for participants.

More than just a competition, J Cup Europe 2026 aims to bring sailors together to share experiences, exchange ideas, and celebrate a common passion for sailing.

About the J Cup Europe

The United States, Australia, England, Ireland, and France regularly host their National J Cup. In 2026, Axe Sail, Key Yachting, the Yacht Club de Cherbourg and J Composites have united to relaunch the J Cup Europe, bringing together J/Boats crews for competitive racing with a strong social spirit. The 2026 edition will feature the very first J/99 European Championship; crews from more than four nationalities are expected.
