This weekend the flying catamarans of the A-Cat class took to the water, returning to Malcesine after two successful editions of the German and Dutch Championships.

Sixty boats lined up for the Italia Cup in the A-Cat Classic & Open categories. Lamberto Cesari ITA 13 and Gustavo Doreste Blanco ESP 72 won the Open and Classic classes, respectively.

The Italia Cup confirmed its international character, with athletes from 12 countries.

Sunny weather and spring-like temperatures accompanied the entire event. The Ora from the south blew steadily and consistently between 10 and 15 knots on all three days, allowing the entire program to be completed.

The 9 races held for both classes allowed the sailors to discard the two worst results.

The high technical level of the participants allowed the competition to keep alive until the final round of the event, making the event even more exciting.

The winners in their respective categories are ESP 72 Gustavo Doreste Blanco for the Classics and ITA 13 Lamberto Cesari in the Opens. In the women's category, the winners are BEL 17 Astrid Janssens for the Classics and GER 15 Katrin Brunner for the Opens.
