8th Portugal Grand Prix Round 2 at Vilamoura Sailing - Day 3

A northerly breeze set the tone for the third day of the 8th Portugal Grand Prix - Round 2, with racing conducted under progressively stable conditions off the coast of Vilamoura.

The wind established from the north late in the morning and became more consistent during the afternoon, enabling the race committee to complete the majority of the scheduled races across fleets. With the event approaching its conclusion, the standings tightened in several Olympic classes ahead of the final day.

The 49er fleet completed three races. Sweden's Marius Westerlind and Olle Aronsson lead the overall classification. Poland's Mikolaj Staniul and Jakub Sztorch are in second place, followed by Uruguay's Hernán Umpierre and Fernando Diz in third.

In the 49erFX class, two races were held. The United States team of Paris Henken and Helena Scutt tops the leaderboard. Sweden's Vilma Bobeck and Ebba Berntsson occupy second position, while the Netherlands pairing of Odile Lambrièx van Aanholt and Marissa IJben stands third overall.

The ILCA 7 fleet completed two races under the northerly breeze. Hungary's Jonatan Vadnai leads the standings, followed by the Netherlands' Duko Bos in second and Great Britain's Elliot Hanson in third.

In the ILCA 6 Women fleet, one race was sailed. Poland's Magdalena Kwasna holds first place overall, ahead of compatriot Wiktoria Golebiowska. Israel's Shay Kakon is third.

The ILCA 6 Men fleet also completed one race. Germany's Levian Büscher leads the classification, with Sweden's Viktor Elfving in second and Turkey's Timur Goca in third.

In the 470 class, Portugal's Beatriz Gago and Rodolfo Pires lead the standings after the day's racing. Spain's Jordi Xammar Hernandez and Marta Cardona Alcántara are second overall, followed by Norway's Julia Jacobsen and Victor Lööf in third.

With one day remaining, the 8th Portugal Grand Prix - Round 2 enters its decisive stage. A stable northerly wind is forecast for the final races, setting the stage for the conclusion of the regatta in Vilamoura.
