2026 Fireball Worlds Expression of Interest Draw Winners receive their P&B Jib

by UK Fireball Association 25 Feb 22:44 PST 20-31 July 2026

As part of the lead up to the 2026 Fireball Worlds in Torquay, an Expression of Interest Draw was held in the autumn of 2025.

In total, 56 boats from 13 countries signed up: 25 from the UK and 31 from overseas. The draw was made at the host club, Royal Torbay Yacht Club, at the beginning of November. The first non-UK boat out of the hat, and winner of a free Worlds entry, was Martin Veit from the Czech Republic, whilst first UK boat drawn, and winner of a jib generously donated by P&B, was Derian and Andy Scott from Chew Valley.

Derian and Andy were snapped at the Dinghy and Watersports Show receiving their jib from P&B's Rhys Rollitt. Rhys commented: "The Fireball is in P&B's DNA, and we're thrilled to continue our support of the Class at the Worlds in July. We hope this sail gives Derian and Andy that little bit of extra edge to climb the results table. Aiding class development — whether that's through sail design or boat fit-out — is something we're genuinely proud to be part of".
