by The Famous Project CIC 25 Jan 11:22 PST 25 January 2026

The Famous Project CIC's voyage around the world is expected conclude tomorrow, Monday, between 1:00 and 4:00 p.m. local French time, when the Maxi Trimaran IDEC SPORT crosses the finish line in Ushant. Shortly after, it will take approximately four hours for the crew members, including Alexia Barrier (France), Dee Caffari (United Kingdom), Annemieke Bes (Netherlands), Rebecca Gmür Hornell (Switzerland and New Zealand), Deborah Blair (United States), Molly LaPointe (United States and Italy), Támara Echegoyen (Spain), and Stacey Jackson (United States), to enter the harbour of Brest and dock at Quai Malbert.

Before reaching this significant milestone, the crew must navigate challenging waters on they way across the Bay of Biscay aboard a the trimaran that has been impacted by the loss of its mainsail. Over the past 24 hours, the all female crew The Famous Project CIC have made steady progress toward France and Brittany, maintaining an average speed of nearly 16 knots by alternating between the staysail (J3) and jib (J2) according to the wind conditions.

As they approach the Rochebonne plateau, known for its difficult waters due to the rise of the continental shelf, they will encounter expected winds of up to 45 knots from the north-northwest. This crew is working toward a historic achievement as they strive to become the first all-female team to complete a circumnavigation in a multihull.

Alexia Barrier congratulates the crew on board Sodebo: "We send Thomas Coville and the crew on board Sodebo our heartfelt congratulations. We followed their progress from start to finish. It is historic, extraordinary. Well done for the record!"
