Announcing the 2026 49erFX Open Series © 49er and Nacra 17 Sailing

The 2026 49erFX Open Series is set to return with an exciting European circuit, offering a full season of high-quality racing, great venues, and a welcoming environment for teams entering or developing in the 49er class.

Season Kick-Off: Valencia, Spain

The series will kick off in Valencia, Spain, from 12-15 February 2026, with our opening event held at the Real Club Náutico de Valencia as part of the Comunidad Valenciana Olympic Week Youth 2026.

This iconic Mediterranean venue is a proven favorite and the perfect place to start the season.

2026 49erFX Open Series

The 2026 calendar features a mix of returning classics and exciting new stops, giving teams a diverse and rewarding racing schedule:

  1. Valencia, Spain - 12-15 February 2026
  2. Koper, Slovenia - 8-10 May 2026
  3. Medemblik, Netherlands - 19-26 July 2026 (in combination with the 49er and 49erFX Junior World Championships)
  4. Stockholm, Sweden - 28-30 August 2026
  5. Lake Lipno, Czechia - 5-6 September 2026
  6. Koper, Slovenia - 25-27 September 2026
  7. Alsóörs, Hungary - 30 September - 4 October 2026
  8. Lake Garda, Italy - 8-11 October 2026
  9. Vilamoura, Portugal - 10-14 November 2026 (season finale and in combination with the 49er and 49erFX Junior European Championships)

Several venues return due to their consistently strong racing and organization, while others continue to grow as key development stops for the class.

Who is the 49erFX Open for?

The 49erFX Open Series is open to any team, including:

  • Mixed or young male teams just getting started in the 49er
  • Young female teams looking for high-quality racing practice
  • Newcomers transitioning into the class
  • Developing teams building experience in international fleets

These events are designed to be accessible, competitive, and supportive, making them the perfect entry point into top-level skiff racing.
