The 29er Eurocup 2026 officially got under way in Palamós as part of the 49th Palamós Christmas Race. After two opening days affected by very light winds, the championship came to life on the third day of racing, when Palamós Bay finally delivered the conditions it is renowned for.

A south-westerly breeze of 9 to 13 knots allowed the Race Committee to run a full and productive schedule, with the 29er fleet completing five races, including recovery races from earlier in the event. The day marked a clear turning point, giving momentum to the opening event of the Eurocup season.

Day #3 Leaders

Leading the overall standings after the first full day of racing are Braden Ozarski and Bennett Simpson (USA) from San Diego Yacht Club. Their consistent results give the American crew a one-point advantage, highlighting how close the competition remains at the top of the leaderboard.

In second place are the Dutch brothers Jeroen and Rik Dieperink, closely followed by Hippolyte Kerfourn and Jules Gautier (FRA) in third, keeping the podium battle wide open.

The Mixed category is currently led by Sarah Kenny and Jack Gillis (CAN) from RCYC, while the Women's standings are topped by Maiken Fromm and Cidalia Voigt (GER) of Kieler Yacht Club.
