Record 100 entries for Tre Golfi Sailing Week 2026

by Tre Golfi Sailing Week 20 Dec 2025 22:22 AEDT 4-28 May 2026

As the Tre Golfi Sailing Week 2026 approaches, the event has already attracted more than 100 entries from 16 countries, confirming it as one of the most anticipated sailing events of the year. The championship will take place in the stunning Gulf of Naples from 5 to 28 May, featuring the ORC World Championship and the IMA Maxi European Championship, together with the 71st Tre Golfi Offshore Race.

To date, 80 entries are registered for the ORC World Championship, while 11 Maxi yachts are entered in the IMA Maxi European Championship. In addition, competitors are preparing for the traditional Tre Golfi Race, which for the first time will feature two separate starts on different dates: one on Friday 8 May for the ORC World Championship and for all ORC yachts not competing in the World Championship, and another on Friday 22 May for the IMA Maxi European Championship.

Among the ORC fleet, an impressive group of more than ten Class 0 yachts stands out, including a number of TP52s such as Arkas Blue Moon (TUR), Red Bandit (GER), Musica (SUI), Spirit of Lorina (FRA), Vudu (AUS), and the Wallyrocket 51s Kilara (SUI) and Django Team (ITA).

Notable entries among the Maxi fleet include renowned yachts such as the two-time European Champion Bella Mente (USA), Jethou (GBR), Balthasar (BEL) and Proteus (USA) in the Maxi Grand Prix division, together with Capricorno (ITA) and Tilakkhana (GBR), the first Wally 100 to be entered.

Berthing in Sorrento will be guaranteed for the first 80 ORC entries, while additional yachts will be accommodated in nearby marinas. Crews are encouraged to complete their entries by the 28 February deadline.

Organized by the Circolo del Remo e della Vela Italia in collaboration with the Yacht Club Italiano of Genoa and with the essential support of the Reale Yacht Club Canottieri Savoia of Naples, the event is held under the patronage of the Italian Sailing Federation, ORC, IMA and UVAI, and is supported by Rolex and Loro Piana as the event's main sponsors.

"The ORC World Championship returns to Italy after several years to honour a fleet that is the largest in the world in terms of boats and ORC certificates, ahead of Spain and the USA. The Championship will certainly feature more than 100 yachts divided into four classes, and the Circolo del Remo e della Vela Italia will once again live up to its reputation as both a sporting club and an organiser of major and prestigious events. ORC has collaborated with Circolo 'Italia' for many years, and the experience gained during the European Championship held during the pandemic, together with numerous editions of the Mediterranean Championship, will ensure that the 2026 World Championship reaches the highest organisational standards for sailors from all over the world who will gather in Sorrento next May," said Bruno Finzi, President of the Offshore Racing Congress (ORC).

Entries remain open on the official website, and teams are encouraged to finalise their logistical arrangements as soon as possible. Tre Golfi Sailing Week 2026 promises to be an outstanding showcase of tradition, innovation and world-class sailing, set against the spectacular backdrop of the Sorrento Peninsula.

  • 71st Tre Golfi Offshore Regatta: 8 May ORC - 22 May IRC Maxi
