A new 49erFX team on the rise: Chloé Revil and Albane Dubois

A new partnership is taking shape in the 49erFX fleet — one built on shared goals, hard work, and a clear long-term vision. French sailors Chloé Revil and Albane Dubois teamed up in late 2024 and have already shown they're a team worth watching as the LA 2028 cycle begins.

Their story started at a training camp organized by the French Federation. Both sailors were looking for a partner, so they sailed together for a month to test the pairing. It didn't take long for things to click.

"We enjoyed it straight away — same goals, same mindset. We're both hard workers, so it felt natural to continue," Chloé said.

Two backgrounds, one direction

Chloé arrives with an impressive youth résumé: 29er World Champion (2021), Vice World Champion in FX at the 2025 Junior Worlds, and even a stint in kite foiling, where she finished 5th at the 2023 Youth Worlds, right before transitioning to the 49erFX class.

"I loved kite foiling, and it gave me speed — I always want to be fast! But I was too light for the senior fleet, so the FX became the right path."

Albane brings top-level Olympic experience to the team: and. After time away, she returned to the FX with new hunger and full commitment.

"I chose Albane because she's a hard worker, completely committed to her passion," Chloé said. "She brings great skills — especially when we hit technical problems. Off the water she's amazing at repairing the boat and even the sails. That's her second passion!"

Coaching and training environment

The team trains under Benjamin Bonnaud, a highly experienced French coach and former 470 athlete.
"He has a great eye for how to make the boat faster, and he really helps us on the strategic side," Chloé shared.

They're currently training with the entire French FX squad in Marseille — a daily environment that pushes them hard.

"Training with a full French team makes everything super challenging. Intense training = quality training."

A promising first season

Despite only one year together, the duo is already showing impressive signs of progress. Their 18th place at their first World Championship in Cagliari was a solid start as their first event together, and one moment stood out:

"Winning a race in strong conditions in Gold Fleet at Worlds is a memory we'll keep from all that winter training."

Chloé admits the FX keeps them humble: "It's a very hard boat to sail properly — so many technical skills to master. I can't wait for the day we nail the perfect gybe in 25 knots!"

What each brings to the boat

Chloé brings speed instincts from kite foiling and a contagious enthusiasm.
"I think I bring a lot of positive energy. It helps us keep going, even when training runs late," she said.

Albane contributes years of Olympic-level FX knowledge, problem-solving on the water, and a calm, experienced presence.

Their communication is developing step by step — natural, Chloé says, for a team just one year old.
"We're enjoying training together, and that's helping us build our connection every day."

Looking ahead

Their goal for 2026 is clear: Top 10 results at major competitions. Beyond that, the horizon stretches toward LA 2028, with growing confidence and a strong foundation beneath them.

Their first year may have been short — but it was full of purpose. And if the early signs are anything to go by, this new French team could become one of the fleet's most exciting stories in the years ahead.
