J/70 Türkiye Championship and Tenzor International Cup Final Leg - Day 3

by Burak Zengin 23 Nov 09:48 PST 19-23 November 2025

It was enough wind to pull off three scheduled races on Day 3 of the 2025 J/70 Turkish Championship and opening stage of Tenzor International Cup Winter Series.

Principal Race Officer Can Giray revealed yesterday's wind was "began to blow at approximately 12 knots from 150 degrees. RC went out to sea 120 minutes before the start and set up the course".

As planned, the start signal was given at 12:00 local time. With the newly used Vakaros system, boats that were OCS immediately restarted.

The top-3 of the first race of this day and 7th in total was Tenzor Team, Ptichki Sailing Team and Happyhour Jr.

After the finishes of the first race were completed, the RC wasted no time and gave a start for second race.

Tenzor Team with Andrey Pushkin at the helm got the second race win ahead of Ptichki and Bogatyrs and moved up into the top of leaderboard. Denizcik skippered by Gulboy Guryel has shown a stable finish in top-5 and controlled the situation with main rivals.

The RC began the third race without delay, but was concerned about the wind, which it predicted would lighten in the afternoon. As predicted, by the time the third race ended, the wind had begun to lose its strength. But all programs were done perfectly.

The third race was the most challenging and brought a lot of surprises. Cheese Sailing did their maximum to show the best time, Tenzor Team finished second and proved its leadership in overall. The next three lucky teams in this race were Denizcik, Nautique Yachting and Dolce Vita.

In overall standings after 9 races Tenzor Team followed by Denizcik and Ptichki Sailing Team reached the podium.

Bogatyrs due to a bad result behind the top-10 in last race has lost 3 positions in overall and sit in 4th position.

Nautique Yachting helmed by Onur Erardag improved their position moved from 7th to 5th place.

"Today provided warm, nice weather for us but tricky and tough day for all I believe, - commented Doga Aribas, tactician of Nautique Yachting. "Wind was good but tricky and the competitive fleet provided really close racing. For us, we managed to get consistent results and fought our way to top 5. After a bad start on the first day it helped us a lot. Tomorrow is the last day of racing with points are pretty close. So its all to play for tomorrow and we hope that light winds will let us race".

Inna Balashova's Dolce Vita climbed on 6th position with only 2 point behind the Nautique Yachting. The next is Bars Sailing team having 3 points gap ahead of Cheese Sailing.

In Corinthians division the leaders - Orient Express has kept its advantage. His two rivals: MYSK - Gelner Sailing Team and Ayaz Jr continue to fight for 2nd and 3rd places with equal number of points. Efsane Yogurt and Aspat Team completed the top-5 after 9 races with only 1 point between each other.

The RC and sailors returned to shore satisfied with their work and getting ready with two races remaining. Final race day is scheduled to commence at 12:00PM, with a prize-giving at D-Marine Turgutreis.
