This Thursday, 6 November, at 5:23:07 p.m. local time (10:23:07 p.m. in Paris), Anthony Marchand and Julien Villion (ACTUAL ULTIM 4) crossed the finish line of the ULTIM class in third place in Fort-de-France Bay, during the 17th edition of the TRANSAT CAFÉ L'OR Le Havre Normandie.
Their race time is 11 days, 8 hours, 13 minutes, and 7 seconds. Anthony Marchand and Julien Villion covered the 5 400 miles of the course between Le Havre and Fort-de-France at a speed of 19,84 knots on the great circle route (direct course).
They actually sailed 6 575,63 miles at an average speed of 24,16 knots (over the water).
Anthony Marchand's enthusiasm is infectious when he talks about his new boat. ACTUAL ULTIM 4 is none other than the former Gitana 17 — the most successful multihull of recent years. "This boat opens up a world of possibilities for us," he confided.Since her launch in July, the Actual team and its skipper have worked tirelessly to get to grips with her, in collaboration with Julien Villion, renowned for his routing expertise and a former member of the Gitana team.Leaders in the early miles, Anthony and Julien sailed a solid race. In close contact with SVR-Lazartigue up to Cape Finisterre and engaged in a prolonged duel with Sodebo ULTIM 3, they made an impressive debut aboard this prestigious boat — proving exactly what they had hoped for: their ability to compete at the front from start to finish.
