At 0805hrs UTC this Wednesday morning, Corentin Douguet and Axel Tréhin (SNSM Faites un don!) crossed the Class40 finish line first in La Coruña, NW Spain, for what has become the first leg of The TRANSAT CAFÉ L'OR Le Havre Normandie double handed race to Martinique.

The French duo, widely tipped among the favourites, completed this stage from Le Havre in 2 days and 18 hours. They finished 21 minutes ahead of the Normandy duo Guillaume Pirouelle and Cédric Chateau (Seafrigo-Sogestran). The duo Achille Nebout and Gildas Mahé (Amarris) completed the podium, following their arrival at 0853hrs UTC;;

The race organizers had to set this stop in La Coruña to protect the skippers and boats from a severe storm that will sweep across the Atlantic coast. The competitors will wait for it to pass before resuming the race, likely at the weekend. Overall victory in the TRANSAT CAFÉ L'OR Le Havre Normandie will be decided by the cumulative time of the two stages (Le Havre - La Coruña, La Coruña - Fort-de-France).
