Summer break is over and it's almost showtime!

FPT Geneva is right around the corner, kicking off October 8th! Once again, the world's best freestylers have gathered for the first half of the Freestyle Pro Tour's two-stop finale. As per tradition at this point, traditional fin Freestyle will be taking a back seat in Geneva, in favor of a focus on the other two disciplines on tour - Tow-In and Foilstyle. Geneva will be the only Foilstyle event of the 2025 season - meaning a champion will be crowned at this event, alongside the Tow-In World Series champion marking an end to the two-part competition that started at the Boot Dusseldorf at the beginning of the year.

So which riders are going to be battling it out at these events?

Let's take a look.

Lennart Neubauer
Starboard/Severne

Leading the charge will be the current reigning Freestyle Pro Tour Tow-In and Foilstyle champion Lennart Neubauer. 2025 has been his season so far - starting off with a victory in the first Tow-In stop in Dusseldorf, followed by another victory in Cape Town in the opening Freestyle event of the season. He missed out on Sardinia due to an injury, however bounced back shortly after with a standout showing in Paros, taking yet another victory.

Neubauer currently sits atop the Tow-In Ranking after his win at the Boot, and will also be wearing the yellow lycra for the Foilstyle competition as the reigning champion.

Yentel Caers
JP Australia/Neilpryde

While Lennart has been the dominant force over the course of the season so far, Yentel Caers has been hot on his heels all year. The only other rider to claim an event win so far this year, Yentel took the victory in Sardinia in a dominant fashion. In the windless days at that event, he also emerged victorious in the Tow-In contest that was held as we awaited for the conditions to improve.

Of course we know Caers can also deliver in both Tow-In and Foilstyle. He was the rider to take the first-ever Freestyle Pro Tour Foilstyle title in 2023, and who can forget the mind-blowing performance he put on in the Tow-In contest in Geneva last year, taking the event win by absolutely stomping a Perfect 10 SamAir in the finals.

Steven van Broeckhoven
WeOne/GUNSAILS

In recent times, whenever Foilstyle's on the table, SVB is a name that's bound to come up. One of the riders pushing in the discipline the most, the GOAT of European windsurfing will be entering Geneva as one of the favorites in the Foilstyle fleet. Bringing a strong Foilstyle move to the table, the wide repertoire of maneuvers he has coupled with his consistency in stomping them will be

And he does have the results as well - aside from his massive trophy cabinet on the fin of course. Steven came third at the Foilstyle event in Vieste last year, and won the only Foilstyle competition at an FPT event this year - the super session on Day 2 at the FPT Sardinia after a super close "Best Move Wins" finals against Yentel Caers. In the Foilstyle fleet for this event, he most definitely will be one to look out for.

Balz Muller
Severne

Of course, if we're talking Foilstyle, we're talking Balz Muller - Mr. Freestyle himself will be making his first appearance on the Freestyle Pro Tour since last year's event in Geneva. Likely the most innovative Freestyler in the world, Balz is often credited as "The Godfather" of Foilstyle, and is a true pioneer of the disciplines, landing a massive amount of worlds-first moves in the discipline.

In recent times, we've seen some unreal progress from him on the Foil. Anyone who follows his social media has seen some of the crazy stuff he's been up to - Kono Diablos, Culo Diablos (already nicknamed the "Radiculo"), and even some attempts of Backloop into Backloop on flat water... hopefully we'll get to witness some of this insanity firsthand during the competition!

Sam Esteve
JP Australia/Neilpryde

Speaking of innovation - Sam Esteve is a rider who has historically pushed Tow-In to it's limits. The SamAir - the Triple Air Rotation that's been making waves in Tow-In and secured Yentel Caers the event victory in Geneva last year was actually first landed and named after Sam Esteve during the 2023 edition of this event. Sam brings huge flatwater combos and some seriously stylish tweaked One-Handed Burners to the table in Tow-In, and will be one to watch if he can once again come out and stomp those Triple Air Rotations.

Bodhi Kempen
Severne

One of the most versatile freestylers in the new generation entering the scene, Bodhi has been competing for a few years now, and in recent times has cemented himself as a strong frontrunner in any competition he's attending. Coming off the back of a 6th place finish in Paros, Bodhi likely will be entering this event with a big focus on Foilstyle. The Dutch crew from Brouwersdam have all been pushing hard on the foil are all sure to be in the mix for the event victory in the Foilstyle discipline, with Bodhi definitely taking charge at the front challenging the big names like Caers, Muller and Van Broeckhoven.

Tigo Kort
JP Australia/Neilpryde

Another member of the Brouwersdam crew pushing hard in Foilstyle is Tigo Kort. The JP/Neilpryde rider made his first 2025 FPT Appearance in Paros, and will be entering this event with his eyes set on the battle for the Foilstyle title - and just like the rest of the Dutch boys, will be in a position to challenge the top riders for heat wins. Tigo finished 4th last season in the overall FPT Foilstyle ranking - a result he will be looking to upgrade at this event.

Dudu Levi
GUNSAILS

A staple name in freestyle who we haven't seen competing much lately, Dudu Levi is a name that brings excitement whenever present on the Freestyle Pro Tour. Anyone who's been following his social media channels lately knows, that Foilstyle will be the name of the game for Dudu at this event. Putting in loads of training on the Foil, Dudu brings the full back of Foilstyle essential moves to the table, and is sure to challenge some of the riders at the top of the foilstyle fleet.

Leander Halm
Starboard/Severne

The youngest rider entering the event here in Geneva, Leander is no stranger to going huge in Tow-In. He showed he meant business last year, throwing out big moves off the wave as well as giving us one of the most memorable crashes of the event - where he managed to snap his boom in half mid-air! In recent times he's been hard at work on the Foil as well, bringing a solid arsenal of moves into that discipline as well - we're excited to see what he can bring to this event!

Nascimo Fournier
MB Boards/Sailloft

If there's anyting french ripper Nascimo Fournier has shown us, it's that he absolutely loves Tow-In! Making his debut at the FPT Vesoul in 2023, he also put on a show at the Boot in Dusseldorf at this season's opener. After a stay in Karpathos this summer, he'll be looking to bounce back and one-up his result from the Boot at this event.

Salome Fournier
MB Boards/Sailloft

An up-and-coming rider who we've seen develop quickly in recent times, Salome is the only female rider entering the Tow-In event mixed fleet. She's a rider who we know can perform in Tow-In, making her tour debut in 2023 in Vesoul, and making strong impressions throughout last season as well as this year's event in Sardinia. She's most well known for her Tow-In Spock, a move that's deceptively difficult and technical to perform without wind.

Tim Gerdes

The third member of the Brouwersdam next-gen crew entering this event, Tim Gerdes is a name that we've seen on and off on tour for the past few years. What's certain is that he's a rider who's able to compete with the sport's very best, especially in Foilstyle. Finishing in 5th right behind Tigo Kort in the Foilstyle rankings for last year, Gerdes is another rider who will have his sights set on the Foilstyle victory, knowing he's able to challenge some of the Foilstyle top dogs.

Cosmo Pezetti

Making his FPT Debut in Naxos in 2024 and attending Cape Town and Sardinia this season, Cosmo Pezetti has made a big impression in the short time he's been competing. Getting a first taste of Tow-In in Porto Pollo stomping a clean No-Handed Burner, then proceeding to take the victory in the Youth and Juniors category and making a deep run in the Pro Men's fleets in both Cape Town and Sardinia, we know Cosmo is a rider wo can compete in the big leagues, and could be one to cause upsets in the Tow-In fleet in Geneva if he goes as big as he did in Sardinia.

The action's right around the corner - FPT Geneva 2025 kicks off on October 8th and runs till October 12th, with the projected schechule having the Foilstyle competition running for the first two days of the event, and Tow-In taking center stage during the weekend.

The entire competition will be livestreamed on the Freestyle Pro Tour YouTube channel - make sure to tune into the action, and stay up to date with our social media channels for behind-the-scenes insights from the event.
