Hayling Island Sailing Club Winter Open Series Preview

Winter sailing is back, and this year Hayling Island Sailing Club is opening its doors to non-members for an unmissable series of racing weekends.

From the 1st of November through to 14 December, sailors are invited to take part in up to 14 exhilarating races for just £70 per boat. Whether you are chasing the podium or simply looking to keep your skills sharp through the off-season, the HISC Winter Open Series offers the perfect blend of challenge, competition, and harbour enjoyment.

Race Format

The series features a varied and exciting schedule designed to keep sailors of all levels engaged:

  • Saturdays: General Handicap Race - open to all classes, this mixed-fleet format promises fast-paced, competitive sailing.

  • Sundays: One race per day, with five distinct fleet starts - Medium, Solo, Slow, RS Elite, and Fast. This tried and tested structure delivers to racing.

Entry and Registration

Participation is open to all, and non-members are especially welcome. Entry is just £70 per boat for the full series, offering excellent value for a comprehensive winter racing programme.
