2025 Hobie 16 Open North American Championships at Pensacola Yacht Club - Overall

by Rich McVeigh 3 Oct 2025 23:21 PDT September 27 - October 3, 2025

The final day of racing at the Hobie 16 North American championships started out breezy but following the pattern here, winds faded during the day.

Three races were completed in 10-15 knots of breeze with varying pressure and oscillating winds. Managing the left-over waves from the strong winds overnight, staying in the breeze and the favored shift was the challenge of the day.

After 16 races over five days, in the gold fleet, Jason HESS/Sonia PONCE (GUA) are the North American champions followed by Yamil SABA/Andrea SABA (VEN) in second and Enrique FIGUEROA/Irene FIGUEROA (PUR) in third.

In the silver fleet, Miguel MILLET/Ciprano GONZALEX (MEX) win followed by Jose Daniel MAYORGA/Juan Carlos CANIZALEZ (GUA) in second and Bradley DAVIS/Erik VOLK (USA) in third

Next year's event will be held in Clear Lake, Iowa.
