Lund Boats, a leading manufacturer of premium aluminum and fiberglass fishing boats, today announced the launch of the all-new 1700 and 1800 Explorer models, purpose-built for anglers who demand rugged performance, low maintenance, and exceptional value.

Designed in direct response to customer feedback, the Explorer combines Lund's legendary fishability with a simplified, durable design that's ideal for those who prioritize function. Built on the proven IPS hull and inspired by the renowned Alaskan series, the Explorer is engineered to deliver reliable, efficient performance for budget-conscious buyers who don't want to compromise on performance and quality.

Constructed with wood-free materials, a composite transom, and an all-vinyl, carpet-free interior, the Explorer is built to last through countless fishing seasons and demanding conditions.

"The Explorer name has a rich history with Lund as a fishing machine," said Dan Anonen, Sr. Manager of Lund Product and Portfolio Strategy. "We built this model to hit the mark for the next generation of anglers who value fishing features without the frills and seasoned outdoors enthusiasts who appreciate minimal maintenance."

Key Features:

  • All-vinyl interior for easy cleaning and long-term durability
  • 15-gallon livewell to keep bait and catch fresh
  • Moveable, adjustable seating for all-day fishing comfort
  • 20-gallon fuel tank for extended range on the water
  • Optional upgrades: Center rod locker or storage compartment, mounted wireless phone charger
Model Lineup & Configurations:

The Explorer series is available in two sizes: 1700 (17'0") and 1800 (18'0") with multiple configuration options to match a variety of fishing styles:

  • Tiller - Hands-on control with maximum floor space
  • SS (Side Console) - Simplified steering with room to fish
  • Sport (Dual Console) - Added protection and versatility
For commercial or rugged-use applications, the Explorer is also available in an Outfitter edition, an unpainted version designed for resorts, camps, and outfitters looking for a durable, easy-to-maintain workhorse.
