The penultimate day of the 2025 29er World Championship in Porto brought yet another shift in the competition, as light wind conditions continued to challenge sailors and reshuffle the standings.

With only one day of racing remaining, the fight for the world title is tighter than ever.

A gentle breeze persisted throughout the day, favoring many of the lighter teams, who took full advantage to move up in the rankings. Despite the tricky conditions, several crews showed remarkable resilience and consistency — two key ingredients in the final stretch of this prestigious event.

Results after Day 5: (top three)

1st Nicklas Holt & Philip Forslund (Norway) 2nd Jocelyn Le Goff & Jules Vidor (France) 3rd Nolann Huet Des Aunay & Titouan Gresset (France)

Category Leaders:

  • Female - Antonina Puchowska & Alicja Dampc (Poland)
  • Mixed - Giulia Bartolozzi & Pietro Rizzi (Italy)

Since Day 1, Porto has delivered a week of spectacular sailing, with race courses set against the dramatic Atlantic coastline. Every race has been a showcase of talent, determination, and sportsmanship — all watched closely by excited crowds lining the beaches and pontoons near Douro Marina.

What's Next?

The final races of the championship will take place tomorrow, Friday, across the Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Emerald fleets, followed by the official Awards Ceremony at Douro Marina.

As the cities of Porto, Matosinhos, and Vila Nova de Gaia prepare to close out an unforgettable week, this year's event will be remembered for its challenging conditions, tight racing, and world-class youth sailing.
