More than 300 young Canadian sailors will be in action this weekend as Sail Canada will present its three regional championships: Sail East at St. Margaret Sailing Club, Sail Central at Hudson Yacht Club and Sail West at Gimli Yacht Club.

Sail Canada's three regional championships provide an opportunity for sailors to train and compete with high-level sailors in their region in the Optimist, ILCA 4, ILCA 6, ILCA 7, Club 420 and 29er classes. In addition, this event serves as talent identification opportunities for regional and provincial sailing teams, along with training, development and mentoring opportunities for coaches, officials and volunteers.

Sail Canada 2025 Sail East Regional Championships - July 18-20, St. Margaret Sailing Club (Nova Scotia)

Sail Canada 2025 Sail East Regional Championships will be held July 18-20 at St. Margaret Sailing Club in Nova Scotia. The weekend will start on July 18 with a training day with special Guest expert and Olympian Erin Rafuse. A total of 141 competitors will compete in 29er, Club 420, ILCA 4, 6 and 7 and Optimist July 19 and 20.

Sail Canada Sail East Championships is aimed for sailors from the Atlantic provinces and Newfoundland and Labrador, yet athletes from other provinces are welcome.

Sail Canada 2025 Sail Central Regional Championships - July 17-20, Hudson Yacht Club (Quebec)

Sail Canada 2025 Sail Central Regional Championships will be held July 17-20 at Hudson Yacht Club in Quebec during Fruitbowl Regatta. The weekend will start on July 17 and 18 with training days with special Guest expert and Olympian Lee Parkhill. A total of 142 competitors will compete in Club 420, ILCA 4, 6 and 7 and Optimist July 19 and 20.

Sail Canada Sail Central Championships is aimed for sailors from Quebec and Ontario, yet athletes from other provinces are welcome.

Sail Canada 2025 Sail West Regional Championships will be held July 17-20 at Gimli Yacht Club in Manitoba. The weekend will start on July 17 and 18 with training days with Sail Canada's National team coach Ken Dool. Over 40 competitors will compete in 29er, Club 420, ILCA 4, 6 and 7 and Optimist July 19 and 20.

Sail Canada Sail West Championships is aimed for sailors from British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, yet athletes from other provinces are welcome.

Sail Canada 2025 Regional Championships are part of a total of eight Sail Canada Regional and National Annual Championships in 2025. The calendar includes Sail Canada Sail East, Sail Central and Sail West Regional Championships, as well as the Youth Fest, Youth Championships, Senior Formula Kite Championships, Senior ILCA 6 and ILCA 7 Championships, as well as Senior 49er and 49erFX Championships.

Clara Gravely comes up with a personal best at the Women's ILCA 6 World Championship. James Juhasz from Oakville, ON, was the top Canadian at the 2025 Men's ILCA 7 & Women's ILCA 6 World Championships held May 12-17 in Qingdao, China, as he came in 37th in ILCA 7 and therefore earned the best Canadian result at the event since 2016.
