As part of an evolving approach to youth engagement, RYA Scotland has launched a new initiative, RYA Scotland Youth Voices, to help amplify perspectives and empower young people within the Scottish sailing and boating community.
Aimed at individuals aged 14 to 25* with a passion for getting afloat, Youth Voices will give young people the chance to come together with likeminded peers, work on a range of exciting projects, and ultimately influence RYA Scotland decision makers.
The Youth Voices group will meet roughly six times a year, with a mixture of online calls and additional in person collaboration opportunities.
Participants will get the chance to input and shape a variety of RYA Scotland endeavours and identify a range of new projects for the group to get stuck into, working closely with RYA Scotland's Under 25 Director Jill Reid.
The RYA Scotland team are looking to bring together up to ten young people to kickstart the first 2 years of this exciting new Youth Voices group, and are encouraging young people to get involved no matter what their sailing background looks like.
Whether you're a competitive sailor, an instructor, a club volunteer or simply someone who loves spending time on the water - RYA Scotland want to hear from you.
With Youth Voices set to operate on a two-year cycle, there will be plenty opportunity for personal skill development, from leadership to public speaking, teamworking and project planning - Youth Voices will be a definite CV enhancer.
