The Cruising Yacht Club of Australia is fielding a highly experienced team for the revived Admiral’s Cup regatta that will be run from Cowes on the Isle of Wight in the UK, from 17th July 2025.

The two-boat team comprises Gordon Ketelby’s Botin TP52 Zen and Sean Langman’s Fast40/GP 42 Back 2 Black.

The team was farewelled by the CYCA in late May, after which we recorded an interview with Campaign Manager Shane Guanaria and Back 2 Black’s owner and skipper Sean Langman.

The two skippers discuss the origins of forming the team and the modifications they’ve made to the boats to suit the diverse nature of inshore and offshore racing that hallmarks the Admiral’s Cup.

We’re looking forward to talking to the Australian team in the UK as they seek to retain the Cup for Australia, 22 years after the event was last run in 2003 and won by Bob Oatley’s Wild Oats and Colin O’Neil's Aftershock.
