Admirals Cup: Day 8 - Big boats match racing to Cherbourg

The front runners in class AC1 (50fters) of the 2025 Admirals Cup are match racing as they work down the side of the last Exclusion Zone heading for the race finish off Cherbourg.

On the water the US 56fter Black Pearl leads the fleet, with Jolt3 (MON) and Beau Geste (HKG) close behind and covering each other's move as the boats gybe down wind in light westerly winds of 7kts.

The New Zealand boat Caro is 4th on the water, and sailing an opposing course to the other two in an effort to break through their lee.

In the AC2 division, Jolt6 (MON) is in the lead on the water with Callisto (RNZYS) chasing hard.

As at 1600hrs BST, 1500hrs UTC, the fleet leaders had passed to the north of Guernsey in the Channel Islands and were approaching St Annes before turning the corner at Cap de la Hague and heading staright for the finish at Cherbourg.

On the current standings, Monaco is expected to win the Admirals Cup with Hong Kong second and New Zealand third.
