Vessev, a leader in innovative marine technology, is pleased to announce its global expansion into the US market with the appointment of Josh Trout as Director of North America.

  • New Zealand-based electric hydrofoiling ferry company Vessev has opened its first international office in the USA, to address growing US demand for its innovative marine technology.
  • Josh Trout, with over 20 years of experience in marine technology and business development, has been appointed as US Director to lead operations, sales, and US-based production.
  • Vessev aims to establish a strong market presence in the US, with plans for local manufacturing, creating jobs, and ensuring strong service support for its hydrofoiling vessels

In this role, Trout will lead the establishment of Vessev's US operations, oversee the production of Vessev craft in the US, and develop and streamline the company's business development.

With over two decades of experience in marine technology, sales, and operations, Trout brings a wealth of expertise to Vessev. His knowledge of the electric and hybrid marine industry, combined with a proven leadership track record, will play a key role in Vessev's expansion in the US.

Vessev CEO, Eric Laakmann, said: "As an American, nothing would make me prouder than bringing the New Zealand innovation to the States. There's no shortage of possibilities in the land of opportunity, and this step is an important step forward for us at Vessev."

"We are thrilled to welcome Josh to the Vessev team," said John Scott, Chairman of Vessev. "What we like about Josh is that his vision and ambition match Vessev's. His extensive experience in sales, operations, and customer engagement, combined with his passion for marine innovation, makes him the ideal leader to drive Vessev's growth in the U.S. market."

US Sales Director of Vessev, Josh Trout, commented: "I've worked at the bleeding edge of marine technology for over 20 years, and the innovation and forethought of Vessev's unique hydrofoiling technology is unparalleled. I have complete confidence that I can support the company's US growth strategy with both sales and extending our reach in international markets. We are also exploring the opportunities to build our state-of-the-art vessels in the US, which will both create jobs and set the foundations for our service and support business in the US."

Trout's appointment marks a significant milestone in Vessev's strategic expansion into the U.S. marine industry. His leadership will be instrumental in delivering high-quality, sustainable vessels to commercial operators and private customers who are looking for the ultimate in sustainable marine transport.
