2025 iQFOiL World Championships set to open in Aarhus, launching the new Olympic cycle

The stage is set in Aarhus for a spectacular week of high-speed sailing as the iQFOiL World Championships 2025 kick off on 4 July, bringing together over 200 of the world's best windsurfers from more than 40 nations.
As the first World Championship of the new Olympic cycle, this event marks the beginning of the road to Los Angeles 2028 - and the pressure is already on.
All Paris 2024 Olympic medalists in iQFOiL are on the start line. Marta Maggetti (ITA 157), Sharon Kantor (ISR 390) and Emma Wilson (GBR 7) for the Women and Tom Reuveny (ISR 60), Grae Morris (AUS 81) and Luuc Van Opzeeland (NED 55) for the Men, ready to resume battle just one year after making history. Joining them is RS:X Olympic gold medalist Kiran Badloe (NED 9). With such star power on the water, the competition promises Olympic intensity and elite-level battles on the water from day one.

It's the first major event of the new Olympic cycle and the level is incredibly high - with the full Paris podium, top talents from every continent, and new nations joining the game. Free and open to all
Spectators can enjoy all the action live and for free, with a festival atmosphere along Aarhus Ø. Food trucks, family-friendly activities, and giant screens broadcasting the racing create an inclusive experience for fans of all ages. From 9 to 11 July, the finals will be streamed globally with English commentary offering a front-row seat to every tactical move, crash, and comeback. Before the livestream begins, the Class will also debut a new live storytelling format on social media, with daily behind-the-scenes content, on-the-water footage, and real-time race updates, especially on Instagram (@iqfoilclass).

Aarhus has hosted world-class events such as the 2018 Sailing World Championships and The Ocean Race, earning its place as one of Europe's premier sailing venues. Its state-of-the-art facilities and passionate community make it the perfect home for the 2025 iQFOiL Worlds.
