Four days of excitement, glamour and world-class marine excellence describes the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (SCIBS) taking place from May 22 - 25, 2025.

With exhibitor space almost sold out, and new partnerships with Gold Bullion Australia, Moët Hennessy Australia and General Motors Speciality Vehicles (GMSV), this year's event is shaping up to be the most spectacular marine lifestyle experience yet. Expect the latest and greatest boating tech and equipment, exclusive waterside experiences and 330+ exhibitors, 760+ boats and 2,500+ marine products making it a massive celebration of the marine lifestyle.

Meanwhile, the Marina Industries Association (MIA) has announced its participation at the Singapore Yachting Festival and the Southeast Asian Yachting Conference being held at the Platinum 5 Gold Anchor One degrees15 Marina Sentosa Cove, Singapore 8-13 April 2025. The SEA Yachting Conference will take place Tuesday and Wednesday 8 & 9 April and will feature insightful discussions on the latest trends, innovations and challenges shaping the regional industry. Conference Master of Ceremonies is MIA Certified Marina Professional Wicky Sundram who will bring his dynamic presence and industry expertise to guide thought provoking discussions. From Victoria, organisers the BIAV and Exhibitors have hailed the inaugural Geelong Boat Show a success after it concluded on the Geelong Waterfront on Sunday afternoon. Very favourable weather, an outstanding waterfront location, and a great display by Exhibitors made for a great day 1, on the Saturday. Spread across the Royal Geelong Yacht Club marina, Stony Pier Lane, Fairnie Park, and Transvaal Square the boutique event layout was excellent for exhibitors and visitors alike. The two-day estimated 4,000 - 5,000 strong crowd took in the boat show, which was taking place alongside the Offshore Superboats racing, the yacht club sailing, as well as the usual waterfront activity. Exhibitors described the crowd as 'quality', and a genuine boat show crowd with real interest. Brand building was certainly at a premium, there were many leads generated, and there was quite a bit of evidence of people sitting at little tables in marquees with pen in hand!

Grand Banks Yachts Limited - GB Marine Group, the renowned builder of Grand Banks and Palm Beach Motor Yachts, has announced the official opening of its dedicated state-of-the-art Composite Manufacturing Facility. Once again, the company and CEO, Mark Richards lead the way with innovation, bold initiatives, and a focused strategy on growth through perfection and sustainability. "I think it's one thing to own our facility, which surprisingly has become rarer and rarer," says Mark Richards, "but it's quite another to carry-out a continued investment program back into the workers and the facilities like we have for the past decade.

This week, the Marina Industries Association (MIA) announced that Ocean Marina Jomtien, in the Gulf of Thailand in Pattaya, is Thailand's first Platinum 5 Gold Anchor Marina. This global accreditation is the highest accolade awarded in the industry and is reserved for marinas that offer their customers a comprehensive and unique marina experience by providing unparalleled boating facilities, tailored and personalised service, and an outstanding array of high-quality amenities. With over 450 modern berths, providing safe anchorage for yachts up to 75m, full vessel maintenance facilities supported by a broad range of onsite marine trades and service providers and premium leisure facilities, Ocean Marina Jomtien is southeast Asia's largest marina and the gateway to yachting in the Gulf of Thailand.

Remembering the important part our marine rescue organisations play in our industry, a combined half-century of service by two volunteers at Marine Rescue Cottage Point was celebrated this week, with Christopher Gillett ESM and Paul Millar both honoured during a ceremony at the unit base on the banks of Cowan Creek. One of Marine Rescue Cottage Point's longest-serving volunteers, Christopher Gillett, was acknowledged for more than 35 years of dedicated service and was presented with his Second National Medal Clasp. He was also awarded a Commissioner's Commendation for Service by Marine Rescue NSW Commissioner Alex Barrell.
