Finn Class News - February 2025

Expression of interest for Brisbane 2026

IFA has opened a survey to gather interest in shipping options and charter for Brisbane 2026. If you are thinking about or planning to go to Brisbane in February 2026 for the Finn Gold Cup or Finn World Masters, please complete the below form by the end of March.

The information will be used to coordinate shipping options and charter boats and will be presented during the Europeans in Naples.

This is not a commitment, just an expression of interest.

FREE Finn Class Webinars with Nicholas Heiner

The first webinar with Nicholas Heiner was a great success.

If you did not manage to register please see here to sign up for a private link to the recording.

The second webinar on strategy will be on 10 March.
Registration will close on 1 March. After that an admin fee is payable.

The moderator will be Roy Heiner. The webinar will last for 1 hour plus 30 minutes for questions and begin at 20.00 CET.

The webinars are free to members with a small charge to non-members.

2025 Finn World Masters Raffle and entry

The Finn World Masters is approaching—slowly but relentlessly. As of today, 295 sailors have entered the event.

The prize raffle on early entries was recently held and Filip Willems has won a 50% discount on the entry fee, while Marco Colombo received a Code 0, FWM 2025-branded hoodie.

The first major championship of the year is the Open Finn European Championship, to be held from April 5-12 in Naples, Italy. There are already more than 100 entries.

Reminder that the early fee ends on 1 March. After that an extra €100 applies

U29 Training Camp at Torbole

There are still a couple of spaces available at the first U29 training being held in Torbole in from 10-13 March (immediately before the Mandelli Trophy at Circolo Vela Torbole from 14-16 March). The coach will be Florian Raudaschl, who will will also support the trainees during the regatta.

Measurement Matters

1. Measurement Certificates
The class is in the process of updating its database of certificates at finnclass.tech. Some boats, especially older ones are missing.

2. Measurement Seminar in Cascais
It is intended to run a measurement seminar during the Finn Gold Cup in Cascais for Official Measurers.

Those interested in attending (no commitment at this stage, just to gauge interest) please register.
