Class Rules updated for Formula Wing Class and WingFoil Open Racing Class

Following the Annual General Meeting in December 2024, the updated class rules have now been published:

The new rules (highlighted in red) will apply from 1 May 2025 onwards to allow everyone to comply with any changed rules.

Formula Wing key changes:

  • Introduce registered series production equipment (townhall call for builders with World Sailing will follow)
  • Change from 3 to 2 wings per event
  • Minimum size of window per side: 400cm2
  • Wingsizes per event:
    • Men: 5.5 and bigger / 5.5 and smaller
    • Women/Youth (U19 and younger): 5.0 and bigger / 5.0 and smaller

WingFoil Open (World Cup Series) key changes:

  • Mandatory windows in the wing
  • Minimum size of window per side: 400cm2
