Following the roaring success of its comeback in 2024, the Soak Insure Tide Ride will return to Hayling Island Sailing Club in 2025 for two thrilling days of high-octane racing, running Saturday 8th November to Sunday 9th November.

Proudly presented by title sponsor Soak Insure, the Tide Ride once again promises to deliver an electrifying mix of speed, skill, and spectacle for sailors and spectators alike. With Soak Insure's continued support, the event will build on its rich legacy, dating back to the early 2000s when it became a celebrated festival of competitive sailing - once even broadcast on the BBC.

Race Format & Fleets Racing is fast, close, and fiercely competitive. Held at high water, each short-format race includes an upwind leg followed by a downwind slalom that brings boats together for dramatic, crowd-pleasing finishes. For 2025, we're inviting:

  • 29ers
  • RS800s
  • Waszps
  • Wingfoiling
Entries are limited to 40 craft per fleet, so early registration is encouraged. Thanks to our 7-day refund policy, you can enter early with confidence.

Event Schedule

  • Saturday 8th November - Heats on two courses with live balcony commentary, onshore fleet raffles, and the legendary Party Night featuring a chilli supper and DJ Freddie Covell.

  • Sunday 9th November - More heats, raffles, and commentary leading into the adrenaline-charged Finals over Winner Bank.

Our Partners

The Soak Insure Tide Ride is proudly supported by Soak Insure as title sponsor, alongside partners Salcombe Gin, Ovington Boats, Rooster, and AFS.

Soak Insure's role goes far beyond sponsorship, contributing extensive maritime expertise and a true enthusiasm for sailing. Simon Tonks, Founder of Soak Insure, comments: "We had an incredible time working with Hayling Island Sailing Club last year, and the Tide Ride was a real highlight. It was fantastic to see so many sailors coming together for such an exciting event, and we loved being involved. We can't wait to do it all again this year and build on that success."
