The updated lists of registered equipment, which can be used from 10 August 2024 onwards, have been published.

The next event where the new equipment may be used, is the Asian Championship from 17-22 September (Daishan, CHN), the Youth Europeans from 7-13 October (Torregrande, ITA), and the Pan American Championships from 10-15 December (Sao Luis, BRA).

The list of bridle systems updates and their measurements will be updated shortly as well.

The new maximum kite size limitations approved during the Formula Kite AGM 2022 apply from 10 August 2024 onwards. The maximum kite size for men is now 21m and for women 19m.

Kites from the previous Olympic quad may be used until the end of 2025, provided that they comply with the size limitations. The nominal size of the kites (i.e. 21m, 19m) will be accepted for kites used in the 2020-2024 quad.

Any kites and hydrofoils listed on the registered equipment list (except 23/25m for men and 21/23/25m for women) may be used in any competition until the end of 2025 (the end of the equipment evaluation period for LA 2028), and without date limitation in youth and national events.

23m and 25m kites (and 21m kites for women) may continue to be used in KiteFoil World Series events, as well as any other equipment including prototypes.
